We would like to invite all prospective P1 boys and girls (September 2024 intake) to visit the school along with their parents for a school experience morning on Wednesday 22nd November from 11am to 12 noon. This is an opportunity to see what our school has to offer, meet the staff and observe the school in action.
If you cannot attend on this date or time, please contact the Principal Mr Fitzsimons at mfitzsimons956@c2kni.net or telephone the school office (437 51293) to arrange an alternative date/time to visit.
We look forward to seeing you all!
It was a Monday morning with a difference today as we welcomed Swim Ireland’s David Thompson to school for what turned out to be a highly enjoyable fitness centred undertaking.
David is a two time Commonwealth Games and European Championship participant and he brought all that know how to some excellent circuit sessions for P1 to P7.
David was also on hand for a Q&A in which he answered a range of relevant and interesting questions. He also alluded a lot in his talk to facets around well-being, effort and hard work.
This was a great initiative from Sports for Schools and we were delighted that our children got to benefit from it.
We are delighted to announce that we are one of the chosen schools to take part in the brand-new ‘Scoil Spreagtha.'
‘Scoil Spreagtha’ is an accredited scheme to recognise and celebrate efforts made by mainstream schools to encourage the use of Irish in the school environment. ‘Scoil Spreagtha’ in its design aims to inspire schools to showcase and expand their efforts to promote the use of Irish in the school setting.
‘Scoil Spreagtha’ is the most substantial scheme for the promotion of languages in our education system since the termination of the Primary Modern Languages Programme in 2015. Running from November 2023 to June 2024, the scheme will culminate in end-of-year celebration events where successful schools, who have fully met the scheme’s accreditation criteria, will receive their ‘Scoil Spreagtha’ status for the 2023-2024 academic year.
We look forward to working towards reaching our accreditation and appreciate your support in our efforts.
Our 3rd annual pumpkin carving competition turned out to be a fantastic success with the standard of entries higher than ever!
Innovation, creativity and originality were high on the agenda as Annie (Young at Heart), Eimíle (P1), Logan (P2), Caoimhe (P3), Declan Óg (P4), Austin (P5), Charlie (P6) and Emily (P7) were all picked as winners.
Well done to everyone on their efforts!
We were extremely thankful this morning to the Tonn Ruray who came to school with cookies for the children and a lovely cake for all of the staff. This was a very kind gesture and we relay our immense appreciation to all at the Tonn Ruray for it.
Remember too that you can submit your child’s art competition entry into the cafe as well to be entered into the prize draw.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
