This week, in Numeracy we have been focusing in counting in two’s and identifying odd and even numbers. In Literacy , we have been forming sentences using capital letters, full stops and fingers spaces and so decided to write our letters to Santa. We have also been busy making Christmas crafts as well as rehearsing for our Christmas play. Thank you to Betty and all the girls for our wonderful Christmas dinner which everyone really enjoyed .In Music, we recorded our Christmas song for the Dundrum Virtual switch on of the Christmas tree lights.
We have been really busy this week in P.2. We were very lucky this week to have a STEM workshop on animals. We all made our own animals and talked to our friends about what makes them special and unique. We have been working very hard on revising our number bonds to 10 and addition within 10. We have also been ordering numbers to 20 . Today we went outside and did our Maths lesson in the sun and wrote our sums all over the playground using chalk. I hope Mr Doyle doesn’t mind !! The boys and girls in P.2 have also been working hard on forming sentences using our phonics to help us. We have had great fun outside in the play park making wonderful memories with our friends. Thank you all so much for the warm welcome into P.2. I have had a wonderful couple of weeks and I am so excited for the year ahead.
Best wishes
Miss Kearney

First Week Back in School
What a great start the P2/3 class has made to being back at school. They had lots of fun learning about their new topic “Marvellous Me.” The children really enjoyed reading the topic book “The Ugly Duckling” and loved making swans, painting pictures, acting out the story and playing in our hospital along with so much more. They had super fun during P.E. with the soft play equipment and during Outdoor Play. Well done P2/3 - keep up the great work!
