POSH delivered two highly enjoyable and fun Halloween discos this evening as the boys and girls of YAH and P1 to P3 partied in the community centre with P4 to P7 dancing the night away in the school hall. Party games, dance offs, a fancy dress parade and spooky themed games were the order of the evening with the illuminated pumpkin patch finishing off a great occasion!
Gratitude is extended to POSH for their sterling efforts with the event. A brilliant fundraiser for the school that was superbly supported.
10 of our classroom assistants recently undertook a 4 week course provided by Specially Connected which focussed on SEN training within the classroom. The continued professional development of all staff is paramount within school and we commend our classroom assistants for their commitment to upskilling in the area of SEN.
Eddie P7
Eddie is a worthy recipient of this week’s Principal Award. He is extremely helpful around the class, always offering his assistance with jobs, whether that be collecting books or looking after iPads. He is a kind pupil who continually demonstrates the highest degree of manners to all his peers and staff alike.
Eddie enjoys being more practical with his learning. He particularly thrives during Forest School lessons where he is able to be hands on and creative. During these lessons, the leadership and teamwork qualities that he possesses really shine through.
In recent weeks, Eddie has really focused on his academic studies. He has been putting a huge effort into his classwork and has been actively striving to improve. It has been great to see the progress that he has made as a result.
Well done!
It was a privilege this past week for the school to host four placement students from St Malachy’s H.S. Castlewellan. Lauren and Emmy who were in P1 along with Olivia and Orlagh who were in P2/P3, are all doing Health and Social Care. The girls were a great asset to Sacred Heart P.S. over these last five days and they represented themselves and their school admirably. Thank you for your efforts!
The entries this year to our annual competition absolutely blew the minds of the teaching staff who had a tricky time judging all the offerings. After a lot of deliberation and discussion, the following were chosen as the class winners and the recipients of some Halloween goodies:
P1 - Farrah, P2 - Fionn, P3 - Caolán, P4 - Niamh, P5 - Darragh, P6 - Cahal and P7 - Isla. Well done to you all!
A wonderful and vast array of incredible pumpkin carving creations are on show in our outdoor classroom after yet another fantastic instalment of our annual pumpkin carving competition. The originality and creativity astounds us every year and a big well done goes to each and every child for their amazing innovation!
