P5/6 took part in a practical lesson using function machines to explore division. Pupils used cubes and number cards to work through one‐step and two‐step functions, then used inverse operations to "work backwards" and check their answers. The children really enjoyed the hands‐on activity and worked brilliantly in groups to solve the challenges. Lots of great mathematical thinking on show!

This week P5/6 marked Maths Week Ireland by looking at some geometry. They made some lovely star shaped mosaics using triangular shapes, remembering to use straight, equal lines, having the lines meet at a middle point and looking for lines of symmetry. They then used colour to make some patterns.
