Aoife P5
This award recognises a P5 pupil who has made an exceptional start to the year. She has shown remarkable dedication to her reading and spelling and her handwriting and presentation have greatly improved. She consistently follows instructions, assists her classmates and demonstrates kindness by including others in her games.
Congratulations to Aoife for her outstanding achievements to date. Keep shining!
Well done!
P6 pupil Casey is beginning to make a name for himself as one of the top up and coming juvenile motorbike racers in the North. At his most recent meet at the weekend, he achieved his first ever podium finish with a fantastic 2nd place. In his second race he was closing in for 1st place but then he had the misfortune of crashing out after pushing the bike hard on a corner.
This is a wonderful development for Casey and we are all very proud of the progress that he is making in his sport!
Members of the Litter Less Campaign along with the Eco-School team are with us today to film and showcase the work that is going on within Sacred Heart P.S. in relation to our environmental endeavours. We are delighted to have been chosen for this project, as a school that is leading the way in all things Eco.

As part of our mission to create the best possible school environment for our children, we have created a learning zone area within the hall.
The zone is made up of four sections that can facilitate one to one work, interventions, small group activities, reading groups, breakaway gatherings and project work. The display boards will be used as an educating tool focusing on core aspects of the curriculum whilst also showcasing children’s work.
At Sacred Heart P.S. we engage with a large number of outside agencies such as RISE, Speech and Language, EA Literacy Service etc. The learning zone will also provide them with a space to carry out their invaluable work.
Mr Doyle’s class joined forces with Miss Crozier’s class today to take part in an Adobe Express workshop connected to the theme of Roald Dahl Day.
The live lesson set children the task of creating ‘wanted’ posters for a villainous character of their choice from a Roald Dahl book. The boys and girls worked brilliantly together to produce some excellent digital representations. An excellent mix of Literacy and ICT based tasks.

Cahal P6
This award is being presented to a pupil who consistently exemplifies the very best of our school’s values. In every subject, his work is always completed to an exceptionally high standard, showcasing his dedication and commitment to learning. His homework is no exception, as he approaches each task with the same level of care and excellence.
But it’s not just his academic achievements that make him stand out. This pupil is also incredibly kind to his classmates, always offering a helping hand or a kind word when needed. His respect for all staff members is evident in his actions and words, setting a wonderful example for others to follow.
In addition to his academic and social contributions, this pupil takes on the important responsibility of tidying our school library each morning. Despite the busy nature of this job, he performs it with great enthusiasm and meticulousness, ensuring that the library remains a welcoming space for everyone.
It is with great pride that we present this Principal’s Award to Cahal, whose hard work, kindness, and dedication truly make him an outstanding member of our school community.
Well done!
Today is Roald Dahl Day and as part of the celebration of the event each class in school participated in a competition to mark the occasion. Book reviews, alternative book covers and author profiles were just some of the tasks undertaken to celebrate this fine author and his works.
Well done to Cara P1, Elaina P2, Logan P3, Sophie P4, Annie P5, Cahal P6 and Elsie P7 on their winning entries! The winners all received a prize for their efforts from our Literacy co-ordinator Miss Byrne.
