Today Miss Kelly completed her final teaching practice placement in P1. Having previously been with us at the start of 2024 in P4, Miss Kelly chose to return here to Sacred Heart P.S. for the last segment of her course.
The boys and girls presented her with a beautiful bespoke card and a lovely bunch of flowers as a thank you for all that she done for them.
Best of luck for the future Miss Kelly!

An enthused bunch of children arrived at Mr Fitzsimons’ office this afternoon after they all received Pupil of the Week recognition. It was interesting to see that two sets of brothers, namely Theo P1 and Michael Joseph P4 along with Matty P2 and Charlie P6 picked up awards as well as birthday boy James P3. Austin P5 and Beth P7.
Well done to you all!
Mr Doyle’s P4 class have been very busy learning of late and they have been utilising the school grounds for a range of purposes.
Using an app called ‘Plant It,’ they’ve been identifying flowers and plants within their surroundings. After creating their own ‘angle eaters,’ they ventured around the building in search of right angles. Then, within the classroom, all the children planted their own lettuce seeds.
An incredibly productive few days of industry for P4!
We have dedicated the month of June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our prayers and intentions over this four week period are offered up for this purpose.
A few years ago, Mr Patsy Forsythe, a parishioner and past pupil, donated a figure of the Sacred Heart to the school. It currently has prominence on display as a reminder to everyone in the school of our spiritual focus for this month.
