Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our 3rd annual Colour Run was our biggest and best event yet! Young at Heart, the boys and girls of Sacred Heart P.S. and Knockevin enjoyed an amazing ASPIRE experience brilliantly facilitated by ‘The Ultimate Colour Run.’ A fine way to end the week with so much fun and enjoyment had by all!

Today two of our placement students finished their tenures in Sacred Heart P.S. Over these last seven weeks we were delighted to have Ms Leanne Doran (P7) and Ms Stacey Kelly (P5/P6) with us from St Mary’s University College, Belfast.
A presentation was made to both ladies at assembly this morning as a mark of thanks and appreciation for their involvement and contribution to our school.
Thank you and farewell Ms Doran and Ms Kelly!

The overall winner will be announced at an event in St Donard's Parochial Hall in Dundrum tomorrow (Saturday) at 11:45am. It would be great if all of our school winners could attend as their entries will be on display too. There is a Fun Day led by Clanmill Housing Association on at the same time with bouncy castles etc. All other children in the school can attend too.

Noomi from P6 is one of the school’s most proactive Irish speakers. Her promotion of the language through daily use has really permeated throughout Sacred Heart P.S. to everyone’s benefit. It was highly fitting then that she received the Gaeligeoir na Míosa award for March.
Maith thú a Noomi as ucht do chuid Gaeilge a úsáid ar scoil!

Annie P1, Eimíle P2, Liam P3, Shea P4, Ronan P5, Sean P6 and Ellie P7 were the distinguished winners of our monthly Mathlete award. All seven pupils were recognised for their commitment to varying aspects of their learning in Numeracy over the month of March. Progress and attainment were very evident among the recipients and we congratulate them on their success!
All seven of our Pupil of the Week winners were given outstanding praise by their respective teachers at assembly this morning. It was delightful to hear so much positivity in relation to the children and their accomplishments and achievements.
Well done to Leah P1, Eimíle P2, Dylan P3, Sophie P4, Caragh P5, Ruadhán P6 and Méabh P7!
Róise P4
Róise has consistently worked hard throughout P4 and always produces work to an excellent standard. In every task the class undertakes, Róise approaches it with great enthusiasm and determination. Her endeavours are consistently presented beautifully. She also demonstrates a growing resilience and will strive to give something a go.
Róise's creativity shines through in her writing. She has great ability in this discipline and the outcomes that she produces are of a very high standard. A talented performer too, it has been a joy to see Róise's confidence grow. Her singing and dramatic skills are developing week after week.
Most importantly, Róise is sensitive and empathetic towards her peers. She shows kindness everyday and has a gentle, natural ability, to make her peers feel supported and valued. She is polite and pleasant towards everyone in the school and is becoming a great role model for other pupils. Róise has great friends but it is really apparent that she is a friend to all.
Well done!
To wrap up their WAU topic, The Farm, P1 enjoyed a fantastic ASPIRE trip to Streamvale Farm alongside their friends from Knockevin.
With the sun shining, the children had the chance to see and learn about a variety of animals, with the puppies and rabbits being firm favourites. They watched an exciting sheepdog agility show, took a fun tractor ride and ended the day playing in the cannonball and tractor area.
