Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This afternoon the P7 boys and girls of Sacred Heart P.S. celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. It was an uplifting ceremony full of vibrancy which was led by Canon Fleck and co-celebrated by Dundrum native Father John Brannigan.
Those receiving the Sacrament had instrumental roles during the service through the readings, prayers of the faithful and the singing of the Psalm. Well done goes to the pupils for their fantastic contribution to the event.
Thank you is reserved for their class teacher Miss Crozier for preparing and guiding the children. We also acknowledge the sterling contribution of our classroom assistant Annette Kelly for her industry.
Gratitude is also directed to our school choir under the instruction of Mr Doyle for the music and songs along with Paul Madden and Eva McAlea for their fine accompaniment.
To the staff members for organising the hospitality in the school hall afterward, we thank you along with our sacristan Mary Polland for her support and collegiality.
It was a special day for our P7 children who have now reached another milestone in their sacramental journey. They were delighted to have the support of their sponsors and close family with them.

Mr Doyle’s P4/P5 students had an unforgettable adventure at W5, exploring the wonders of the North’s landscapes and wildlife in the ‘In Our Nature’ zone. They unleashed their creativity in ‘The Studio,’ inspiring future filmmakers, and built impressive structures in the ‘Build It’ zone. The ‘Making Sense’ area dazzled with optical illusions and multisensory experiences, while ‘W5’s Marvellous Machine’ brought mechanical engineering to life.
The highlight was collaborating with Knockevin's Owl Class on the thrilling ‘Marble Run’ roller coaster workshop where teamwork and imagination soared!

Ailbhe P2
The Principal’s Award this week goes to P2 student Ailbhe. Ailbhe is extremely well mannered and always shows a great attitude in school from when she comes in during the morning until she goes home in the afternoon. This is a fine personality trait that not only shows her love for learning but also her enthusiasm for school as a whole.
Ailbhe works independently within Numeracy and Literacy and takes great pride in her work. She is an avid reader and has been excelling throughout the Accelerated Reader programme which is fantastic at such a young age. She shows great interest in the books that she reads and is always on hand to engage in discussion around them. Ailbhe loves writing too and has created some fantastic stories during creative writing lessons this year. She has a spark for imaginativeness and this inspires her written output.
Ailbhe looks out for others and shows a great caring and compassionate nature. She participates well and puts 100% into everything that she does. Her teacher is delighted with the progress that she has made thus far. She is a very worthy recipient of this award.
Well done!
With everyone returning to school this week, we all reflected on the month of April and everything that occurred during it. To that effect we celebrated the boys and girls who shone outstandingly during these last four weeks with Zayne P1, Eimíle P2, Matty P3, Hugh P4, Michael-Joseph P5, Gerard P6 and Niamh P7 all rewarded with the honour of Pupil of the Month for their respective classes.
A big thank you goes to our fundraising wing, POSH, for their very kind sponsorship of our new leavers’ jumpers for the current P7 class. A few members of POSH made the presentation to the boys and girls this morning, all of whom are very excited to get wearing them in what is the final stretch of their Sacred Heart P.S. journey.
