P7 had a great Monday morning participating in a drama workshop. In partnership with the St Patrick’s Centre and led by Anthony, the boys and girls played a variety of drama games and then worked in groups to create a dramatisation of the story of St Patrick. There was lots of fantastic acting and creativity on display!

P5/P6 and P7 all had the opportunity to visit the Water Bus this morning!
Downstairs, the boys and girls learnt all about the different processes of cleaning water and what we can do to help as responsible and aware citizens.
When they went upstairs, the focus was on the water cycle and how we can help to save water and ultimately, our planet.
Conor McKibbin, proprietor of Brennan’s, visited the P7 class today. Conor, who incidentally is also a past pupil of Sacred Heart P.S., came in the capacity of our JEP (Junior Entrepreneur Programme) visitor to talk about all things business!
The boys and girls have been busy setting up their own business, Sacred Heart Scents, and they really appreciated the great advice Conor gave and all the questions that he answered.
Conor very kindly gifted each member of the class with a voucher for some ice cream. The children are extremely grateful and are looking forward to using these!

We were delighted to see the commencement yesterday of the construction of the new pedestrian crossing on Main St (opposite the chapel). This instalment will be of huge importance to our school, allowing parents to use the adjacent car park and cross safely to and from our entry points with their children.
The creation of the new pedestrian crossing stems back to late 2023/early 2024 when initial meetings took place with the DFI. Our local Sinn Féin MLA Cathy Mason along with Councillor Oonagh Hanlon and Councillor Róisin Howell have been instrumental in seeing the process through to where we are at now. Similarly we place on record our thanks to past parents Frank and Sue Spence for all the work that they put into building the case for this development. Not to forget our children who strongly advocated for this new instalment along with our parents!
We as a school community look forward to the completion of the project and the essential use that we will get out of the new pedestrian crossing.

Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online was the theme for this year’s Safer Internet Day. The Digital Leaders led the thematic aspects of this important day of awareness as they held a competition for internet safety posters. The Just2Easy platform was used for this whilst every class undertook awareness training in relation to modern day aspects of scamming.
