Young at Heart, our joint Pre-School Afternoon Club between the Parish of Dundrum/Tyrella and Sacred Heart P.S. were delighted to welcome some Dundrum Development Association (DDA) members to their new outdoor area this afternoon.
The newly built zone includes an elevated seated reading area, an artificial grass section along with a play-based learning activity part.
The DDA gave substantial financial backing to the project and this contribution is appreciated by all stakeholders, none more so than the children at Young at Heart and Sacred Heart P.S. who will be availing of the new area.
We also thank contractor Bobby Murdock and his team for carrying out the development work.
This afternoon our P7 boys and girls celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Sacred Heart Church with Father Fleck conducting the ceremony.
The children were a credit to themselves, their families and their school, such was the level of participation and contribution to the service.
We thank Mr Doyle for preparing the boys and girls for the Sacrament and to all the adults in the school who helped to assist with the day in anyway. Thanks also goes to Eva McAlea, who along with Mr Doyle, provided the music for the occasion.
Well done to all the children. Enjoy the rest of your special day!
Today our P7 boys and girls will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The ceremony will take place at 3pm in the Sacred Heart Church. For those family and friends who cannot attend along with members of our wider school community, the service can be viewed live on the Parish Webcam.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
