What an amazing build up to Halloween we had in Sacred Heart P.S. and Young at Heart today. So much fun, games and activities. From specialist artwork, to pumpkin carving, to themed cup cake making, to spooky creations, to parental assemblies, to POSH Halloween movie nights. We had it all!
Enjoy midterm and we will see everyone back for Term 1.2 on Monday 7th November.
Mr Lundy’s P5 class had an enjoyable morning out to the Ballymote Centre in Downpatrick for a Multi-Sport Activity Session with their counterparts in St Colmcille’s P.S. Downpatrick.
The boys and girls got to enjoy a range of sports as well as plenty of opportunities to interact with their new friends.
Thanks goes to St. Colmcille's Primary School, Downpatrick for facilitating the event.
Mrs Mona Owens has been holding very popular guitar lessons in Sacred Heart P.S. over the past year. In that time, Mona has penned a song for the school called 'Striving for Greatness Together.' This is the school motto and the song has been crafted to reflect a host of themes that run throughout the establishment. Pictured is Mona (back centre) along with those that attend lessons on a weekly basis.
We were delighted to acknowledge today the amazing success achieved by our P3 pupils, Rebecca and Annie, at their weekend Karate competition. Both girls have been making great strides in their chosen sport of late and we as a school are immensely proud of their progress.
Keep it up girls!
Not to be outdone was Rebecca’s brother Ronan, who picked up a much coveted bronze medal during his competition.
Well done!
HIP Psychology attended school this morning to deliver a very valuable ‘Excel With Pressure’ workshop to our P6/P7 pupils.
Led by facilitator Carlos Sanha, the session focussed on teaching pupils top psychological skills to help them mentally be their best when they most need it.

As part of our Maths Week 2022 celebrations, we held a Maths Bee today during assembly. Incidentally, today was also ‘Number Day’ in which each child came to school wearing clothing that had a number represented on it.
The boys and girls had been engaged in various Numeracy based activities all week and they were mightily enthused to participate in today’s competition.
Every class member from P1 to P7 competed superbly with everyone giving their best effort to try to come out on top.
Well done in the end to our class winners namely:
P1 - Caolán
P2 - Shea + Sophie
P3 - Eoin
P4 - Darlene
P5 - Alfie
P6 - Lorcan S-P
P7 - Oisin
