We have sold out our 7pm evening performances for our Christmas plays on Tuesday 20th December!
However, we still have a limited number of tickets available for the 1pm afternoon shows on the same day.
If any member of the public/our wider school community would like to purchase tickets, please contact the school between 8am and 5pm on Monday 19th December to place your order (£3 per ticket).
Thank you.
This afternoon four representatives from the P5 class attended Clough Presbyterian Hall as part of the South Eastern Trust’s Intergenerational Christmas project.
The Murlough Melodies group are a collection of dementia sufferers and their carers from the local area. They meet weekly and today they extended an invite to Sacred Heart P.S.
The P5 class had been working hard all week creating personalised Christmas cards for the group and Darragh, Padraig, Meabh and Sofia were on hand to present them on behalf of the class. They all joined in with a festive sing song too!
Thank you goes to Murlough Melodies for the very kind gifts that they gave in return.
This afternoon our school netball team under the tutelage of Miss Crozier and our classroom assistant Cora Peters made the trip to St Nicholas P.S. Ardglass to take part in their invitational blitz. Our panel of 15 ensured that we could field two teams in games against the hosts and St Colmcille’s P.S. Downpatrick.
A great time was had by the squad members as they performed brilliantly in all of their matches. The skills on show were of the highest order with the girls relishing the competitive element.
Thank you to Mr Burns and St Nicholas P.S. for the invite and for being great hosts.
St Louis G.S. Kilkeel hosted their annual ‘Technology Challenge’ today. We were delighted to have two of our P7 boys, Oisin and Max, compete at it.
The challenge promoted scientific and technological awareness whilst fostering an interest in Technology itself. The boys had an opportunity to work in the school’s Technology and Design department to help solve practical problems using a range of materials and components.
Well done on your efforts!

Mr Doyle’s P4 class are currently exploring the instructional writing genre in class. To aid their learning with this style, they headed to the De La Salle High School in Downpatrick today for a hugely beneficial workshop.
The P4’s were welcomed to the Home Economics department by Mrs Irene Stokes who was assisted by some Year 12 boys. The Sacred Heart P.S. boys and girls got to make cup cakes by following the step by step instructions that were provided.
They were then treated to pizza for lunch as well as getting to eat the delicious cup cakes that they made! A mini raffle was held with three of the pupils winning chocolate Santa’s. An informative and enjoyable outing all round.
Thank you goes to Mr Doyle for organising, De La Salle High School for their welcome and hospitality along with their staff member and Sacred Heart P.S. governor and parent Mrs Claire McGuigan for her help on the day.
Just after lunch today, Santa landed at Young at Heart to make a quick visit to all the boys and girls.
The children were full of excitement as they told him what all they wanted for Christmas. From scooters to bikes with stabilisers to purple handbags! The list was extensive.
The boys and girls all received a gift from Santa before they performed a fantastic Christmas song. Santa bade farewell to everyone before setting off back to the North Pole with his reindeer!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
