Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Congratulations to our brilliant P7 pupils who received the Sacrament of Confirmation today in St Joseph’s Church Ballykinler. They prepared excellently and their reading, singing and involvement in today’s ceremony was a source of pride to the whole school community. Thanks to Fr McKinley and Fr Fleck for a lovely service and to our friends from St Joseph’s Tyrella for their warm welcome and assistance in preparations!
The Promoting School Community Programme is firmly underway at Sacred Heart PS. It is proving to be highly successful with a great turnout of parents, grandparents and community members. There has been very positive feedback on the sessions. The programme is on consecutive Monday evenings in Sacred Heart PS from 7.30pm-8.30pm. See photos below from pottery sessions.
This year’s World Book Day was a huge success once again! Thanks to parents and pupils for all of their efforts with costumes- they created a lovely atmosphere in school. The children participated in a wide variety of classroom activities such as designing their own books, writing short stories and creating their own films using their favourite books as stimulus. Well done to the winners of the Best Dressed Competition pictured below.
Well Done to P4 Pupil Martin Cunningham, who is one of three nominees for Newry, Mourne and Down Sportsperson/Team of the Year with a Disability. Martin is being recognised for his commitment to Karate. He has a visual impairment, which he refuses to let hold him back. Martin always displays a very positive attitude and his bravery is so commendable. It is a highly prestigious award and everyone from Sacred Heart Primary School is so proud of Martin for his nomination and wishes him all the best in the upcoming awards presentation on Thursday evening.
