* The POSH Carol Singing and Coffee Morning will take place this coming Sunday (12th December) at the Car Boot Sale. Our school choir (P4, P5, P6 and P7) will be in attendance from 10:30am to midday. We will be located at a specially reserved spot adjacent to the GAA club house. Tea, coffee and refreshements will be available along with festive treats. * The proposed POSH Christmas Movie Night for P1 - P7 that was originally scheduled for Friday 17th December has now been cancelled. With COVID cases rising locally, it was thought that in the interests of health and safety of all our children, that this indoor event shouldn't proceed.
Thanks.
It was a P2 pupil this week who was the recipient of the Principal’s Award. Eilish is recognised as having an extremely high work ethic which has enabled her to make great progress across the curriculum. She tries hard at every challenge that is set in front of her. She is a fine friend to all in her class and continually shows excellent manners to everyone that she comes into contact with.
Well done Eilish!
Mrs McPolin’s class have been hard at work this past month making their own castle creations. The finished products were wonderful and full of creativity and resourcefulness.
A lot of effort went into their construction. The children’s innovations saw castles made from wood, some with fairy light additions, castles with adjoining battle fields, moats and miniature figures. Family crests and the quirky inclusion of a Rapunzel character were some of the other creative touches!
Well done to all the boys and girls for their great work related to their Fairytales topic.
Martin (P7) from the School Council recently told us all about an initiative that involves collecting stamps in the lead up to Christmas. The idea is to take stamps off your Christmas cards and other post and the more you collect, the more that is then given to the RNIB charity.
We have a box in school for all stamps to be collected in and for every kilogram of stamps collected, the charity receives £20. All children are encouraged to bring any stamps from home into school.
