There has been some fantastic work going on this week in P3/4, P5/6 and P7 in relation to their class World Around Us topics.
The P3/4’s are focussing on Vikings, P5/6 on Mountains and P7 on the Victorians.
Mr Brennan/Mr Fitzsimons’ class saw the children tasked with researching Viking helmets and designing their own that they would wear in battle. They then had the opportunity to make their own helmet as part of a STEAM task. They looked absolutely brilliant with the children including Viking rune writing on the sides.
Miss Crozier’s class were focussing on volcanoes this week, learning about how they are formed and why they erupt. The boys and girls even conducted their own experiment by creating their own volcanoes and then replicating an eruption by mixing baking soda, water, food colouring and vinegar!
Mr Doyle’s class created suspension bridges in the spirit of Isambard Kingdom Brunel who was renowned during the Victorian era as one of the greatest engineers of the period.
Well done everyone!
