Mr Doyle’s P4 class made the trip to the Kingdom of Mourne today to visit the Neary Nógs venue as part of their World Around Us topic, ‘Chocolate.’
They learnt about the chocolate making process from the pod in its country of origin such as Togo, to name a few, to our shop shelves. The children found out about how Neary Nógs pay above market value for cacao beans, to ensure that the cacao farmers get a living wage, ensuring survival of the cacao industry and the farmers’ livelihoods.
The children had a chance to taste the difference between 100% chocolate, 70% chocolate, delicious fudge and hot chocolate. They had a very informative and enjoyable day as trainee chocolatiers!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
