Today, after 24 years service in Sacred Heart P.S. Mrs King retired. To mark the occasion there was a special assembly held in school this morning with Mrs King and some of her family in attendance.
Chair of the Board of Governors, Mr Maurice Redmond, addressed those present with some thoughtful and kind words. Our youngest pupil in the school, Hugh from P1, along with one of our oldest, Niamh from P7, were on hand to present Mrs King with leaving gifts. The school choir then beautifully sang ‘The Parting Glass’ to close.
A lovely artistic piece was presented to Mrs King with the thumbprint of every child in the school on it. The accompanying words were as follows:
‘You’ve watched many seeds blossom and grow. Then leave the fields, with the wind they blow. Thank you for all the nurture you bring, we’ll never forget you Mrs King.’
