P7 travelled today to Ulster University, Jordanstown, to take part in the NBA Festival of Fun event held by Basketball NI.
We were one of 30 schools from all over the North who had the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and play lots of basketball.
The boys and girls were thrilled to learn that they would be representing the Los Angeles Lakers and were proud to wear the jersey that they were also able to take home!
A huge thank you to Michael McCabe for facilitating this fantastic experience and the previous coaching sessions. He ensured that the boys and girls were ready to compete and make the most of their day.
*** Reimagined Outdoor Classroom ***
This morning our Eco School co-ordinator Miss Crozier alongside our Eco Council members officially opened our reimagined outdoor classrooom. This came at the most opportune time as we are currently engaged with Outdoor Learning Week across the school.
A huge thank you goes to a friend of Sacred Heart P.S. Mr John Fitzsimons, for his sterling work with the project. Gratitude is extended as well to our current parents, Mr John Tumelty and Mr Andrew Doyle, for their extensive contributions too.
This space is wonderful area for learning and we look forward to getting our classes out to it for lessons during Term 3 and beyond.

A large crowd came together this morning to participate in the POSH Community Litter Pick. This is a great initiative that allows everyone to immerse themselves in the upkeep of our village and ensures that our environmental ideals remain at the forefront of our school operations.
Thank you to all who took part. A fantastic amount of money has been fundraised for Sacred Heart P.S. as well!

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, the school decided to create a commemorative painting that reflects Sacred Heart P.S. in 2024. Every child in the school painted their likeness onto the canvas, solidifying their place in the annals of school history.
