Santa’s visit to Young at Heart.
The children at Young at Heart were very excited when Santa Claus made a surprise visit yesterday. They entertained him with some lovely songs which he really enjoyed. Santa gave all the children an early Christmas present for being so good.
Sacrament of Confirmation
We were delighted to welcome back last year’s P.7 Class for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Despite the postponement, we had an intimate ceremony and the pupils read beautifully. It was made Even more poignant and special to see the boys and girls in their new school uniforms and to reflect on how much they have grown up. Thanks to Fr.Fleck for a lovely service and to all our assistants who helped to organise this wonderful celebration.

World Down Syndrome Day (21.3.19)
A selection of our fantastic pupils showing their support for World Down Syndrome Day by wearing odd and brightly coloured socks. Down Syndrome Day promotes the rights and individuality of all people with Down Syndrome.
St Patrick’s Day Assembly
St Patrick’s Day was celebrated in true style this morning in Sacred Heart PS with a special Assembly. Parents, grandparents and extended family were present to witness a fantastic range of story telling, singing, dancing, music and poetry delivered by our very talented pupils. Well done to all of the boys and girls on their performances! Thank you to the school community for attending and also to Paul Madden and Eva McAlea for all of their musical expertise and assistance in the music. Happy St Patrick’s Day!
Parental Maths Classes
Many thanks to all of our parents for attending the recent Maths Workshops. Parents were provided with important information regarding popular maths strategies to assist them in developing their children's knowledge of the four rules of number within the home setting. They had an opportunity to sample a range of mental maths websites, apps and practical resources. It is anticipated in the near future that there will be classes provided on Problem Solving.
Christmas Show 2016
Congratulations to all our children on their wonderful performance of Scrooge and The Noisy Nativity. Below is a selection of photos from the show. More photos to follow next week! Well done to everyone!
Local Performance Psychologist Cormac Venny delivered a presentation on Promoting Positive Behaviour as part of Anti-Bullying Week. It was a huge success and the pupils throughly enjoyed it. They received important information on breathing when making decisions, positive self talk, promoting self confidence, respecting/appreciating others and the importance of good preparation for school. It was a throughly enjoyable session for both pupils and adults!
