Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
P2, P6 and P7 took part in their first joint Forest School lesson today at Dundrum Castle. The Forest School initiative is a fantastic opportunity for children to solve problems and work as a team whilst exploring and learning about the environment around them.
P2 taught the boys and girls from P6 and P7 all about their Arctic topic and together, they created some beautiful replicas of different animals from that region, including narwals and polar bears, using only the natural materials around them.
Everyone had a fantastic time and they are looking forward to the next joint lesson as we aim to embed the Forest School programme within Sacred Heart P.S!

This coming Thursday (1/12/22) we will be holding our annual Christmas jumper day in school to coincide with our Christmas dinner. A suggested donation of £1 for a charitable cause is usually given. However, this year we have changed our focus. Where possible, we are asking for donations (listed below) from each class to The Pantry Foodbank.
There will be a box located at the main school entrance from tomorrow (Tuesday) that donated items can be put into all through the week. We do not want families going to any huge expense over this initiative. We are just grateful that you can donate what you can for this great cause. Only one item from the list is needed from each pupil in each class. If people want to bring extra in that is ok.
Thank you.

The Digital Leaders, School Council and Eco Council all received new badges today at a special presentation at assembly. The boys and girls are fully active within the various groupings and they can now be identified within the school population if any of the children want to approach them with queries, questions, ideas or suggestions.
At the weekly assembly this afternoon, each class teacher announced our Pupil of the Month recipients for November. Words like persistence, dedication, effort, hard working, fun and mannerly were just some of the terms used to describe the characteristics of our winners. All great attributes.
Well done to you all!

Sean has made a great start to P4. Mr Doyle has been impressed with some of Sean’s enthusiasm for learning and his hard work this year, coming to school every day with a smile on his face.
He has made some great contributions during discussions particularly around the class novel ‘The Twits’ and he shows great ability with the drama based lessons.
Sean has confidence in himself and can show perseverance when faced with new challenges. He is a popular and sociable member of his class and school community which is a result of his lovely manners and kindness towards others.
Well done!
Today the school participated in ‘Ditch the Dark Day.’ All children were encouraged to ‘be bright and be seen’ to and from their way to school. There was an important road safety message at the heart of this themed day as everyone learned the importance of being visible out and about during the winter months.
