Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Credit to our school guitarists who participated in a collective performance at the Kilmegan Centre, Castlewellan, on Sunday afternoon. The boys and girls are students of Mrs Mona Owens and all enjoy weekly lessons under her tutelage.
P5 pupil Jude won the most improved award and we commend him for this accolade. All the children were judged on their skills with the winners receiving specialised guitars from local luthier George Lowden.
Well done to you all!
This morning our P4 class celebrated the Sacrament of First Holy Communion at a wonderful ceremony in the Sacred Heart Church led by Canon Fleck.
The boys and girls were excellently prepared and they participated wholeheartedly in the service with song, readings and prayer.
Gratitude is extended to P4 teacher Mr Doyle for guiding the class through this latest instalment in their spiritual journey. We also acknowledge the contribution of our classroom assistant Toni O’Neill for her sterling efforts as well.
To the school choir, under the direction of Mr Doyle and accompanied by Cora Kelly and Annette Kelly, we thank you for your superb input to the occasion.
We also recognise the efforts of our school staff for hosting a lovely occasion back in the school hall in which all those in attendance got the opportunity to celebrate in unison.
We hope the boys and girls enjoy the rest of their big day!
Caoimhe is a truly deserving recipient of the Principal’s Award as her attitude towards her learning is an inspiration to all her peers.
From the moment Caoimhe comes to school in the morning, she has a bright smile and a polite greeting for staff and pupils alike.
She is extremely diligent in class, settling to begin tasks quickly and always takes pride in her work. You are a real hard worker in class Caoimhe and it has been a delight to see your confidence soar as you have progressed through P2.
We were delighted today to welcome Stephen Calvert and Stian Swanepoel to the school for the beginning of a set of cricket coaching sessions.
Both men are members of Dundrum CC with Stian, a South African native, being the club’s professional for 2023.
The P6/P7 class will be undertaking four sessions before participating in the local Primary School tournament on the 14th June. Incidentally, Sacred Heart P.S. are the current holders of the cup having won the competition back in 2019!
It’s a sell out! Our P6/P7’s sold all 112 of their customised Sacred Heart P.S. water bottles today. An incredible effort by the whole team, from the initial idea concept through to the design process and then on to the marketing aspect before the selling today.
Well done to Miss Crozier’s class for proving to be superb business people. Thank you as well goes to all those in our school community who purchased a bottle. Your support is much appreciated
It will be a busy day in Sacred Heart P.S. tomorrow!
