Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
As part of our celebrations for Catholic Schools' Week this coming week, there will be a Mass in the Sacred Heart Church at 9:30am on Wednesday (25th January). This will be our Grandparents' Day Mass and we cordially extend an invite to all grandparents within our school community to attend.
Thank you.
Our Eco Council have been busy these past few days with a couple of ornithological based undertakings.
Yesterday, they made bird feeders so as to ensure that we are ready for the arrival of birds to our school in the spring.
Then today, the Eco Council led participation in the RSPB Big Birdwatch. A dedicated group of children participated in some bird spotting in what proved to be an enjoyable task.
P2 had a very special visitor to their class on Thursday when Skye the budgie flew in. As their World Around Us topic for Term 2.1 is 'Birds', it was a fantastic opportunity to learn a little more about common birds which can be kept as pets.
Skye was very well behaved and even sang the class a couple of songs throughout the day!
P2 look forward to learning more about local birds and how they can help to look after wild birds which they might see in their garden.
Miss Crozier’s P6/P7 class were transported back in time today as they assumed the roles of school children from the Victorian era. This was a true and authentic Victorian school day experience that everybody revelled in.
The 3R’s were of upmost importance with reading, writing and arithmetic to the fore. Slates were used to write on with chalk being utilised too. Gruel was served up along with Victorian sponge cake whilst PE consisted of skipping, hopscotch and a good old game of bulldog!
A fine learning experience was had by everyone and what an imaginative way to make the class World Around Us topic come alive.
