Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This evening from 7pm to 8pm in the school hall, Mr Doyle will be leading a practice of our school choir (P4, P5, P6 and P7) along with some past pupils, as we prepare for our participation at Christmas Eve Mass on Saturday.
With such a busy schedule in school these next few days, tonight's get together is an ideal slot for practice time and we would encourage a full attendance.
Thank you.
In what has been a frantically busy month in Sacred Heart P.S., we took time out this afternoon at assembly to acknowledge our very deserving Pupil of the Month winners.
Arthur (P1), Lochlan (P2), Mark Óg (P3), Gerard (P4), Sofia (P5), Beth (P6) and Jasmin (P7) were all selected by their class teachers to receive this award.
Well done to you all!
Effie has truly had a fantastic first term in her final year at Sacred Heart P.S. She has worked incredibly hard this term, showing real dedication to her studies through the Transfer Test process and her great results in the Friday tests.
Effie makes great contributions to school life. She is a leading figure in the Student Council. She has already made her mark through her proactiveness. Effie has already made great suggestions and shows a willingness to give up her own time to help with different projects, with absolutely no complaints.
Effie thrives during sports, showing excellent skill in many areas, but most importantly she plays fairly. She will always ensure everyone is included and helps to guide others during games. She is a great team player!
Well done Effie!

This afternoon four representatives from the P5 class attended Clough Presbyterian Hall as part of the South Eastern Trust’s Intergenerational Christmas project.
The Murlough Melodies group are a collection of dementia sufferers and their carers from the local area. They meet weekly and today they extended an invite to Sacred Heart P.S.
The P5 class had been working hard all week creating personalised Christmas cards for the group and Darragh, Padraig, Meabh and Sofia were on hand to present them on behalf of the class. They all joined in with a festive sing song too!
Thank you goes to Murlough Melodies for the very kind gifts that they gave in return.
This afternoon our school netball team under the tutelage of Miss Crozier and our classroom assistant Cora Peters made the trip to St Nicholas P.S. Ardglass to take part in their invitational blitz. Our panel of 15 ensured that we could field two teams in games against the hosts and St Colmcille’s P.S. Downpatrick.
A great time was had by the squad members as they performed brilliantly in all of their matches. The skills on show were of the highest order with the girls relishing the competitive element.
Thank you to Mr Burns and St Nicholas P.S. for the invite and for being great hosts.
St Louis G.S. Kilkeel hosted their annual ‘Technology Challenge’ today. We were delighted to have two of our P7 boys, Oisin and Max, compete at it.
The challenge promoted scientific and technological awareness whilst fostering an interest in Technology itself. The boys had an opportunity to work in the school’s Technology and Design department to help solve practical problems using a range of materials and components.
Well done on your efforts!
