Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Miss Crozier’s P6/P7 class are currently involved in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. Today was an opportunity for the five groups in the class to pitch their business ideas to the Dragon’s Den.
The Dragons consisted of Maurice Redmond (Chairman of the Board of Governors), businessman Paul Byrne, staff member Cathy Hamill and Principal Mr Fitzsimons.
In what transpired to be a truly engaging event, the boys and girls and each of their respective teams did themselves proud. The research and effort that went into their business pitches is to be applauded. The presentation skills on show were of the highest order as was the content contained within each pitch.
The teams will now get together and consider the feedback given to them by the Dragons. From this, the best business idea will be chosen and proceeded with. Also as part of the process, a very special business visitor will be visiting the class in a fortnight’s time for a Q&A session. Watch this space!
There is only one week to go until the deadline for the P1 application process passes (12 noon on Friday 28th January).
Thank you to all those parents who have already processed their application. For those yet to do so, the portal can be accessed here.

Thank you,
In addition to our fundraising efforts before Christmas with the local branch of St Vincent de Paul, the school also opted to support the Cancer Fund for Children (Daisy Lodge). The boys and girls participated in a sponsored colouring in competition during Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 16th December.
This morning, the charity’s representative Mairéad Rodgers visited our school as we presented her with a cheque for £150. Thank you once again to our school community for their charitable support for this cause.
Today Miss Byrne’s P2 class ventured to the Down County Museum in Downpatrick. The boys and girls enjoyed engaging in the ‘Down On the Farm’ presentation and workshop. They learned all about farms of the past, how to make flour and they also participated in a historical arts and crafts session. This was a great tie in with their current World Around Us topic: Animals.

Well done to P5 pupil Christopher who was this week’s recipient of the Principal’s Award. Christopher always displays a strong work ethic in his school work. He shows great interest in all of his undertakings, especially the World Around Us. His general knowledge and understanding of topical themes is a great strength of his.
Keep it up Christopher!

We are delighted today to launch Sacred Heart P.S. within the Safer Schools app system. The app is the home of online safeguarding for school communities here in the North. It is a digital safeguarding communication toolkit which aims to engage the entire school community. It provides staff, parents, carers and pupils with the information we need to know and when we need to know it, which in turn helps everyone to be better informed and protected together.
To download the app, simply search for 'Safer Schools NI' on Google Play or the App Store. When registering on the app, just search for our school 'Sacred Heart P.S. Dundrum.' The log in code for parents/carers is 7131 and the QR Code is attached in the image below.
