P1 learned all about the role of a fisherman today as part of their World Around Us topic, Under the Sea. They headed over to the beach and discovered how oysters are farmed, thanks to our local fishermen, Paul and Sean. The children learned that oysters are grown in special mesh bags which are placed in the sea and regularly checked as they grow. Once mature, the oysters are carefully collected and prepared for market. The class also had the chance to explore the tools used in oyster farming and even got to sit on Paul and Sean's trailer.

P1 launched their new topic, 'Under the Sea,' with a fun-filled scavenger hunt at the beach. The children had a great time discovering crabs, mussels, and seaweed along the shore.

P1 had a great time during their PDMU lesson in the forest! They explored emotions and how to recognise them, then used loose parts to create faces showing different feelings. To finish, they enjoyed a lovely story all about being happy!
