WALT: Understand the terms transparent, translucent and opaque. 

Today the P3 class took part in an experiment to see if different materials were able to have light pass through them.

We made predictions beforehand and then we compared it with the results. The children were very excited throughout and showed a great understanding throughout.

Light and Dark 

WALT: Understand different sources of light

Today we began our WAU topic with talking about natural and artificial sources of light. We went into a bit more detail one one natural source of light which was sunlight. We then talked about light travelling towards things that are opaque and transparent. When light goes toward an opaque object it will reflect off it and create a shadow. The boys and girls were very excited to talk about all things shadows so we decided to draw our partners shadow outside as it was a sunny day.
