Today in school we celebrated the annual occasion of Roald Dahl Day. To mark the milestone, the whole school participated in a Dahl themed quiz at assembly this morning. We collectively got 7 out of 8 questions correct. We all know now that Willy Wonka’s pink boat was made from a hollowed out boiled sweet and not candy canes! 

Each class were given a themed task to complete this week:

P1 + P2 - Children will design and colour the Wonka Bar from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

P3 + P4 - Roald Dahl loved creating nonsense words especially for books like The BFG. Children will create their own Gobblefunk nonsense word. They need to make it large and clear with plenty of design and colour.

P5 + P6 + P7 - Children will become a modern day Quentin Blake and choose a Roald Dahl book then redesign its cover using their imagination. They need to make sure to include the book title and any other important details.

After a very high standard of entries and some fantastic pieces of work, Teddy P2, Jim P3, Caolán P4, Korey P5, Caragh P6 and Darlene P7 all had their pieces chosen for special praise.
