*** Sacrament of Confirmation 2026 ***

This afternoon, the P7 boys and girls of Sacred Heart Primary School, together with pupils from St Joseph’s P.S. Tyrella, celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. It was a truly uplifting and vibrant ceremony, led by Bishop Alan McGuckian and co-celebrated by Canon Robert Fleck and Deacon James Uhomoibhi.

The pupils played an active and meaningful role throughout the service, contributing through the readings, Prayers of the Faithful, offertory and the singing of the Psalm. We commend them for their confidence, reverence, and outstanding participation.

Sincere thanks are extended to their class teachers, Miss McConville and Miss Crozier, for their dedication in preparing and guiding the children. We express appreciation to our classroom assistants, Ms Toni O’Neill and Miss Chloe Trainor, for their support and commitment to the ceremony. We also extend our thanks to Ms Annette Kelly for her contribution to the preparation and celebration of Confirmation.

We are grateful to our school choir, under the direction of Mr Doyle, whose music greatly enhanced the ceremony and added a real spirituality to proceedings. Special thanks also goes to Paul Madden for his excellent accompaniment.

We acknowledge the efforts of the staff who organised the hospitality in the school hall afterwards, as well as our sacristan, Mary Polland, for her invaluable support and dedication.

This was a special and memorable day for our P7 pupils as they reached another important milestone in their sacramental journey. It was made even more meaningful by the presence and support of their families and sponsors.

The ceremony, led by Bishop Alan, was both inspiring and prayerful, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended and providing a wonderful occasion for our parish community.
