Mr McCartan’s P2/P3 class explored the coding features on Scratch Junior. First of all they created a background that resembled a habitat for minibeasts. The children thought it would be a great idea to create a link between coding and their World Around Us topic, Minibeasts. 

To advance their learning, the class then coded a bug and a butterfly, with their aim being to make the minibeasts fly towards the flowers for food. The P2/3 class learned that making a code was like making a list of instructions. 

The class really enjoyed coding the minibeasts on the app and they all got a chance to be creative and add all sorts of different coding features to their creations.
