*** P6/P7 - WAU Natural Disasters ***

Miss Crozier’s P6/P7 class have had an enjoyable start to their Natural Disasters World Around Us topic. 

This week, the focus was on tornadoes. They learnt all about how a tornado forms and how these are measured. Pupils then created their own tornadoes in a jar! After this, they studied the structure of these natural disasters, creating their own artistic representations focusing on line and colour.

*** Pupil of the Week ***

2026 is upon us and with that we celebrated our first Pupil of the Week winners of the New Year. Everyone settled back into school life really well over these last five days and it was a joy to acknowledge Patrick P1, Zayne P2, James P3, Amelia P4, Luke P5, Kasia P6 and Sean P7 as our seven most worthy of recipients.

*** Striving for Greatness Together Acknowledgement ***

Seth, Daniel, Rosie-Leigh, Noah and Grace P6/P7 

We are proud to present this award to this quintet of pupils for their outstanding participation in the ASPIRE partnership with Knockevin. These boys and girls were nothing short of warm and welcoming, displaying an openness and enthusiasm for forming new friendships. They ensured that they each introduced themselves and got to know the other children. Their kindness and caring nature truly shone through, and they exemplified what it means to strive for greatness together.

*** Christmas Plays 2025 ***

St Aquinas Parochial Hall once played host to the likes of Engelbert Humperdinck, Roy Orbison, The Troggs and Joe Dolan, to name but a few. Today, it came alive once more. After an absence of eight years, the boys and girls of Sacred Heart P.S. returned to perform their Christmas productions in this most historic of venues.

Miss Byrne’s P1/P2 delighted audiences with The Nativity, followed by Mr McCartan’s P2/P3 performance of Honky Tonky Donkey. Mr Doyle’s P4/P5 took to the stage with Snow White and the Sparkly Seven Elves, Mrs McCauley’s P5/P6 presented Away with the Manger and Miss Crozier’s P6/P7 concluded the programme with Mrs Humbug Sees the Light.

Over 500 patrons attended the five plays across five hours, making for a marathon of truly brilliant performances.

Today in school we celebrated the annual occasion of Roald Dahl Day. To mark the milestone, the whole school participated in a Dahl themed quiz at assembly this morning. We collectively got 7 out of 8 questions correct. We all know now that Willy Won
