Ailbhe P3 

Ailbhe is a truly deserving recipient of the Principal’s Award today. She consistently demonstrates impeccable manners, showing respect and consideration to both her classmates and staff. Her kindness shines in everything she does and she is a loyal and thoughtful friend to those around her. Whether in the classroom or the playground, Ailbhe leads by example through her gentle nature and her warm and inclusive spirit. 

Her work ethic is equally admirable. Ailbhe approaches every task with determination and enthusiasm, always striving to do her best. This commitment has led to remarkable progress in her learning, especially in her reading, where she has shown tremendous growth and confidence. Her mental maths skills have also flourished, reflecting both her perseverance and her work ethic. 

Ailbhe’s talents extend beyond the classroom as well. Her performance at the St Patrick's Day Concert on the accordion was nothing short of fantastic. She played with confidence, skill and joy. Her musical ability added something very special to the celebration. 

For her exceptional attitude, dedication and talents, Ailbhe is a most worthy winner of the Principal’s Award. Congratulations, Ailbhe!

*** Magic Milk in P2/P3 ***

As part of Science Week, the P2/P3 pupils enjoyed the Magic Milk experiment – a simple but fascinating activity that brought science to life!

Using milk, food colouring and a little washing‑up liquid, the children observed how colours burst and swirl as the soap reacted with the fat in the milk. This sparked great discussion around surface tension, making predictions, and carefully observing changes.

Lots of curiosity, excitement and wow moments – science learning at its best!

*** Principal’s Award ***

Niamh P4 

The Principal’s Award goes to Niamh and wow, does she deserve it! 

Niamh is an exceptional pupil who gives her very best in everything she does. She listens so carefully, follows instructions brilliantly, and is always ready to learn with a big smile. 

Mr Doyle has been especially impressed with Niamh’s literacy and writing. She absolutely loves creating stories, and she has a real flair for using amazing descriptive language. Her work around Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has been fantastic, full of imaginative ideas and even some brilliant figurative language! 

Her numeracy skills are just as strong. Niamh has worked so hard on her counting-on strategy and can now find change from up to £20, great work! 

Niamh’s books are always neat and beautifully presented, and her drawings are detailed, colourful, and full of effort. 

But one of Niamh’s very best qualities is her kindness. If someone is upset, stuck, or needs a hand, Niamh is already there, offering help, giving support, and making sure everyone feels included. She does this naturally, quietly, and without ever being asked. She makes our classroom a happier place. 

Niamh, we are all so proud of you. Keep shining!

*** Pupil of the Week ***

A huge congratulations to our wonderful award winners this week:

P1 – Ella, P2 – Leena, P3 – Eimíle, P4 – Kiannah, P5 – Ella, P6 – Ronan and P7 – Isla.

These pupils have shown fantastic effort, kindness, and enthusiasm right across their learning.

It has been a very busy and exciting week in school as we celebrated World Book Day, with pupils enjoying stories, characters, and lots of shared reading fun. On top of that, our boys and girls took part in a variety of ASPIRE activities, continuing to build confidence, teamwork, and positive attitudes with the programme.

Spring is in the air, and our pupils are blooming brilliantly!

Fionn P5 

This week’s Principal’s Award goes to Fionn, who brings kindness and positivity to the classroom each day. He is always cheerful, and shows great care towards his classmates. He also has a super sense of humour and often makes those around him laugh — including the adults! 

He approaches his learning with consistent effort and always tries his best. He has been working particularly hard on his reading and is showing real determination to improve. His creativity is also shining through, especially in his love of drawing and the fantastic artwork he produces. 

He is determined to be in school each day and shows excellent attendance and punctuality. He is an absolute pleasure to have in the classroom and a very deserving recipient of this award.
