*** Gymnastics Gold Medallist ***
P6 pupil Éabha was in sparkling form on Saturday as she attained a gold medal in the vault discipline at her gymnastics competition. Éabha has been making wonderful progress with her chosen sport and she was extremely proud to bring her gold medal into school today to show her peers. Well done!
* 2026 Irish Minor Schools’ Championships *
Three of our P6 swimmers, Caragh, Eilish and Eoin, all represented the school today at the Irish Minor Schools’ Championships in the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin. All of them performed admirably, securing PB’s in the process. Well done!

*** P1/P2 ASPIRE Trip to Streamvale ***
Miss Byrne’s P1/P2 pupils had a fantastic ASPIRE day at Streamvale Open Farm, joining up once again with our friends from Knockevin for a fun and engaging outdoor learning experience!
The children loved meeting and feeding the animals, enjoying tractor rides, exploring the farm trail, and getting hands‑on with all the interactive activities Streamvale has to offer. From cuddling baby animals to learning about life on the farm, there were smiles all round!
It was wonderful to see our pupils and Knockevin pupils learning, playing, and supporting each other throughout the day. Their curiosity, kindness, and excitement made the trip truly special.
A big thank you to all the staff who helped organise and supervise the visit — and to the pupils for representing the school so brilliantly.

*** P4/P5 ASPIRE Trip to W5 ***
Our P4/P5 class enjoyed a brilliant ASPIRE day out at W5, joining up with our friends from Knockevin for a fun‑filled, hands‑on learning experience.
The children explored the interactive zones, experimented with STEM challenges, and got stuck into activities that sparked curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of excitement. From building, designing, and problem‑solving to discovering the science behind everyday life, there was something to inspire everyone!
It was fantastic to see pupils from both schools learning together, supporting one another, and showing great confidence and enthusiasm throughout the day. Their behaviour and attitude were a real credit to the school.
A huge thank you to all staff involved for organising such a memorable experience — and to the pupils for making it such a wonderful day out!

*** Principal’s Award ***
Cara P2
Cara is a truly exceptional member of our school community and she is more than deserving of the Principal’s Award. Every day, she shows impeccable manners and treats everyone around her with kindness and respect. Cara is so friendly to all the children in school, always ready with a smile, a helping hand or an encouraging word. She works incredibly hard in every lesson, listens carefully and gives her very best at all times. Her handwriting is outstanding for a P2 pupil and she consistently completes her work to a remarkably high standard.
Cara is also excelling in Accelerated Reader at such a young age, showing a love of books far beyond her years. Yesterday, she earned her very first certificate of recognition, a testament to her growing confidence and determination as a reader. At home, Cara continues to shine—she regularly chooses to do extra work simply because she loves learning. Her enthusiasm for school is evident in everything she does, and she has become an integral and much-loved part of the classroom. We are all incredibly proud of Cara and delighted to celebrate her achievements.

A huge well done to our wonderful pupils who have shown exceptional progress, confidence, and enthusiasm in Numeracy this month! Their hard work, problem‑solving skills, and willingness to challenge themselves have really stood out.
Bobby – P1
Bobby has shown brilliant early‑number skills, fantastic counting, and great focus during Numeracy tasks. He approaches every activity with a big smile and a can‑do attitude.
Eimear – P2
Eimear’s confidence has grown so much! She asks super questions, works carefully, and uses fantastic strategies when solving problems. A real role model for her class!
Jude – P3
Jude has impressed everyone with his mental‑maths accuracy and his ability to explain how he finds the answer. A fantastic thinker with great determination!
Caolán – P4
A superb month for Caolán, who has shown excellent problem‑solving, strong times‑tables knowledge, and real perseverance when tasks get tricky. Brilliant effort!
Ella – P5
Ella consistently gives 100%. She tackles multi‑step problems confidently and shows excellent reasoning skills. A hardworking and enthusiastic learner!
Daniel – P6
Daniel has demonstrated mature mathematical thinking, superb focus, and brilliant progress. He’s tackling more challenging concepts with real confidence.
Sean – P7
Sean has been pushing himself to master more complex maths topics. He using all the skills that he has learned to assist him with tackling problem based questions and with his times tables.
We are incredibly proud of all our Mathletes for their effort, resilience, and positive attitude.

*** Striving for Greatness Together Acknowledgement ***
Rosie-Leigh, Cahal, Catarina and Ronan P6/P7
The Striving for Greatness Together award is proudly presented to Rosie-Leigh, Cahal, Catarina, and Ronan in P6/P7 for their wonderful teamwork and contributions during their creative writing topic this week. Miss McConville is incredibly proud of the way this small group each contributed something unique to the class shared writing on persuasive letters. They listened beautifully to their peers opinions, showed patience and encouragement towards one another and included everyone in their learning. Their cooperation and positive mindset have helped them achieve great results this week, and they have set a fantastic example of what teamwork and leadership looks like in the classroom. Their patience and positive attitudes made a real difference, and they truly demonstrated what ‘Striving for Greatness Together’ means. Excellent work!
*** Sacrament of Reconciliation ***
Our P3 children received the Sacrament of Reconciliation this afternoon in the Sacred Heart Church.
Led by celebrant Canon Fleck, the boys and girls participated beautifully in the service, contributing through song, music, drama and readings.
A warm thank you goes to Mr McCartan for guiding the class in their preparation, and to our classroom assistants Ms Annette Kelly, Ms Joanne Reynolds and Ms Betty Hogg for their invaluable support.
We also extend our gratitude to the school choir, under the direction of Mr Doyle, along with Mr Paul Madden, for their wonderful singing and musical accompaniment. Our appreciation is further offered to Mrs Mary Polland for preparing the chapel so beautifully for the occasion.
Finally, to the boys and girls of P3—you have reached another important milestone on your spiritual journey. Well done!

*** Splash the Teacher! ***
The first of our trio of Lenten fundraisers for Trócaire took place today with ‘Splash the Teacher.’ A sincere fair play to Miss Byrne, Mr McCartan, Mr Doyle and Mrs McCauley for volunteering to be soaked! A grand total of £355 was raised with our Bun Sale and Silver Coin Challenge still to come.
