Capital and Small letter focus

WALT: Match lowercase letters to capital letters.

Today in order to help the class fully cement all their capital letters they took part in an art based literacy lesson where they first of all had to cut out letters both small and capital and match them together. After this they got to decorate and colour as they wished. The children will continue to work on this throughout the course of the week.

 

 

Phonics

Today for our phonics lesson the children took part in 5 carousel activities. 1- Roll and read words game based on our sound of the week.2- Spelling Game on the iPad. 3- 5 minute phonics game. 4- Handwriting. 5- Accelerated Reading/Tricky word writing.

 

 

 

 

Roald Dahl Day 2026

Today was Roald Dahl Day! For Roald Dahl Day the P3 class talked all things Roald Dahl from their favourite story to their favourite character. The story we focused on as a class was ‘The Enormous Crocodile.’ The children thought this story was very interesting and said they wouldn’t want to meet the enormous crocodile around lunch time. Everyone made their own crocodile to celebrate Roald Dahl Day. The children loved adding their own unique ideas and creativity to their crocodiles.
