In their World Around Us topic, P1 have been learning about the important role of firefighters. Today, they discovered how to safely light a fire, practised fire safety and learned how to extinguish a fire. The children also explored key scientific concepts, such as how heat transfers to other objects and they observed the changes that occurred when marshmallows were toasted.
