Welcome to Primary 2 & 3!
We had a busy week celebrating the number 100. We did some writing in Literacy connected to this. We wrote about 100 acts of kindness, 100 places we would like to visit and what our lives would be like when we are 100 years old!
We also celebrated the number 100 in Numeracy, threading food in 10s, making number caterpillars by counting in 2s, 3s and 5s. We also used tally and we counted 100 beans into bags.
We are continuing our coding with off line activities which include ‘programming’ our friends to move from point A to point B. We also plan out the route in advance now- we write out the instructions prior to programming the device.
In Numeracy we try to keep activities practical. We can double numbers with games such as Dominoes. We continue to learn about numbers with games like Bingo. Who knew learning could be so much fun?!
We also made some snowflakes and wrote instructions on how to make them. It’s always good to make and do. We know there’s lots of folding in half before we cut along the edges.
